IN A groundbreaking display of corporate social responsibility, the JB Family Foundation has embarked on an innovative initiative to provide solar systems to vulnerable households in Mbare. This pioneering effort not only aims to empower the community but also promotes environmental sustainability by embracing renewable energy.

“We are thrilled to be giving back to the community that nurtured us,” said Wallace Dekwende, Public Relations Manager for the JB Family Foundation. “Our goal is to support the government’s efforts towards sustainable development, improve the lives of our elderly citizens, and contribute to a greener future for our planet.”

So far, the foundation has successfully installed solar systems in five households, with plans to continue donating to those in need. The solar systems range from 1KV to 3KV, carefully tailored to meet the specific needs of each household.

“We conducted a random survey to ensure that our donations are not one-size-fits-all,” explained Dekwende. “We want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our beneficiaries, while also promoting energy efficiency and reducing our carbon footprint.”

By harnessing the power of solar energy, the JB Family Foundation is helping to reduce reliance on non-renewable energy sources, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

“This initiative is a testament to our commitment to creating a more sustainable future for our community,” said Dekwende. “We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference and inspire others to join us in going green.”

The JB Family Foundation’s efforts are a shining example of community-driven initiatives that make a real difference. As Dekwende aptly put it, “We came from the community, and we are giving back to the community. With faith, determination, and a commitment to sustainability, we believe that anything is possible.”
